The Kyle Terrian Memorial Fund was established in 2013 to remember Kyle Terrian. Kyle was a
student of Bethel High School and Ohio University. Kyle passed away in 2013 from a rare and aggressive cancer. The Memorial Fund’s goal is to give back to the community in the form of
scholarships and charitable contributions. The scholarship you are applying for is comprised of
donations from your friends and family in the community, who have given of themselves to
help you achieve your goals. It is our hope that you will use this money to better yourself and
someday be able to give back to the fund to continue helping students after you. This is a
nonrenewable scholarship.
Requirements prior to applying:
Senior at a Miami County High School
Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher (GPA will be verified)
To apply for the scholarship please answer the following questions; 150 word max per question,
on a typed document. . In addition, please fill out the attached document. Post mark by May 15th.
- Over the past four years of high school, how have you made your community better?

Jason Holfinger was a firefighter/paramedic that proudly served the citizens of Troy, Oh. Jason
was a dedicated member of Troy Firefighter’s Local 1638. Jason’s attributes truly made him a
firefighter that many looked up to and still talk about to this day. Jason selflessly served the
citizens of Troy and the surrounding area. Jason is remembered to this day for his humor and
strength. Sadly, Jason passed away unexpectedly in 2018. The members of Troy Firefighter’s
Local 1638 want to honor and memorialize Jason and invest in the future of the fire service with
The Jason Holfinger Memorial Scholarship. The one time, $500 (five-hundred dollars), will be
awarded to a Miami County Ohio high school senior, who plans to pursue firefighting, EMT, or
paramedic certification classes after high school. There will be an exception for the residency for
any child, stepchild, grandchild, or step-grandchild of a Local 1638 member who lives in an
adjacent county to Miami County. The scholarship money will be given to the rewarded student
after successfully completing the first quarter of firefighting, emt, or paramedic class.
The scholarship will be chosen by the Local 1638 Scholarship committee and approved by the
union body.
Please fill out the attached application form and submit a one-page essay in which you describe
the attributes that will make you an outstanding Firefighter, EMT, or Paramedic. Please mail the
application, high school transcript and essay to the above address before April 19 th , 2024. (Must
be postmarked on/before this date).

The West Central Ohio Manufacturing Partnership(WCOMP) has established a
scholarship program to provide opportunities to students studying manufacturing trades,
engineering, maintenance, robotics, automation, and electronics. In 2023, up to five
scholarships of $1,000 each are offered for full-time study at an accredited U.S.
institution of the student’s choice. Note: An emphasis will be placed on student study in the manufacturing trades.
The program is administered by WCOMP. Eligibility for individual programs is
determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed
by WCOMP’s evaluation team.
As part of your application, one online recommendation must be completed on your behalf no later than April 15, 2024 5:00 PM EST.
Applicants of the WCOMP STEM Scholarship Program must be:
- US Citizens
- Current high school seniors with a cumulative 2.25 or above GPA, or current community college or career technical center students with a cumulative 2.25 or above GPA.
- Planning to enroll or already enrolled full-time at an accredited career technical center, trade specific school, or community college in the US.
- Be willing to consider a paid internship with WCOMP member companies, other circumstances notwithstanding (note: the internship is not required to receive a scholarship, and scholarship recipients are not guaranteed an internship)

Human Resources Association of Western Ohio (HRAWO) will be issuing a scholarship to be used towards an associate's or bachelor's degree at an accredited university. The scholarship will consist of a one-time payment of $1,000. One scholarship for the academic year will be awarded to an incoming freshman or current college freshman.
To be eligible to apply, a student must meet the following qualifications:
- Be a senior graduating from an Auglaize, Darke, Mercer, Miami or Shelby County High School (Public, Private or Home School) or a current college freshman who graduated from an Auglaize, Darke, Mercer, Miami, or Shelby County High School (Public, Private or Home School).
- Planning to attend an accredited university to earn an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average.
- Must furnish a high school transcript and copies of college admission test results.
- Must write an essay of 250 to 500 words explaining the importance of your major in today’s society.
The completed application should consist of:
- HRAWO Scholarship Application Form - completed and signed by applicant.
- Applicant’s essay.
- A high school transcript; and
- Standardized test scores (ACT or SAT).
All applications must be received by April 15, 2024.

PURPOSE: To provide a $500 Book/Media Supply Scholarship to a Miami County high school senior pursuing a college degree or to a current staff member continuing a degree.
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be accepted by a two or four year accredited college and show probable success based upon completion of the attached. A hard copy must be received by MCRTA by April 10.
PROCEDURE: Complete the attached three-page application, attach, in a separate sealed envelope, two signed letters of recommendation applicable to Miami County Retired Teachers Association and attach a signed copy of your most recent transcript. Application must be handwritten. No typed applications. An applicant who does not complete all guidelines outlined above, will be disqualified.

Mote & Associates, Inc., Engineers and Land Surveyors, located in Greenville, Ohio established a scholarship in October of 2002 at a celebration to honor the founder of the firm, Richard Mote, for his 30 years of dedicated leadership and his passion for engineering and surveying. The scholarship is for a commendable student seeking a post high school education or enrolled in an accredited college program in the field of engineering, surveying, architecture, or a closely related field of study.

The Miami County Gem & Mineral Club is announcing their 2024 scholarship offer of $500 to a Miami County high school senior.
Applicants must be pursuing a degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or math) at a college or university in 2024. A focus on earth sciences is preferred, but not required. The recipient of this scholarship will also receive a free one-year membership in the Miami County Gem & Mineral Club. He or she may come back any time to talk about college coursework or to use the club's facilities.
Qualifications
- Academic standing: minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Community service activities
- Financial need statement
- Two letters of recommendation (not from family members)
- A 250-300 word essay that includes:
- How the applicant formed an sustains an interest in the earth sciences, including geology, mineralogy, or science education and
- career and education goals with an explanation of how the earth sciences will factor into these goals.

All Applications must by typed. Completed applications must be returned to the CHS School Counseling Office by the end of the school day Monday April 3, 2024. No exceptions will be made, as it is unfair to the other students competing for these scholarships. The Covington Alumni Association will be awarding three (3) $1,000 scholarships.
Winners must attend the Covington Alumni Banquet on Saturday June 1, 2024 to accept the award.
This scholarship is available to all Covington Seniors who have a 2.0 GPA or higher.
Requirements:
- Letter of recommendation from Covington Staff member
- Acceptance letter from prospective college
- A brief essay on why you need the Covington Alumni Scholarship and how you plan to use the money (tuition, books, housing, etc.)
